Just a few reminders:


1. English outline for the book talk is due Monday.  It's on google classroom, as are all the necessary resources.


2. Math: remember to complete the 7/8 Math Algebra review on google class (still 8 to go).  If you had difficulty with this, or you want some additional reinforcement, I have created a document in the same Math topic (Algebra) on classroom, called: "7 8 Math ALGEBRA Number increase/decrease".  It goes through the whole explanation again (including the analogy of what happens when you add or remove 20% of a person!).  There are also some questions at the end to see what you have learned.


3. History: for grade 8s, I have created a follow-up survey to the activity: "Let's Make a Country!"  Please complete the survey and submit it to me by Tuesday.

Passion Project: next Friday, we will be presenting our Passion project proposals a la "Dragon's Den".  To do this effectively, you will need to complete the survey on Google Class.  That should help you narrow down your topic to the driving question.  You will need to make a very short presentation using google slides (4-5 slides) to support your pitch.

HOUSEKEEPING:

I am writing this on Thursday night, in preparation for tomorrow's blog: as I will be coaching the football team all day at their tournament in Mount Albert, I will not have time to complete the blog (I will be coach, referee, doctor, nutritionist...).  If we do well, we could be getting back to the school as late as 5, and that is past the cutoff blogger allows me to send a feed (I would also like to get home to my family at that point!)

Concerning the English and Math work: students had time to work on both tasks today, and it was only a matter of finishing what they had started. I had also scheduled time in class tomorrow for kids to complete it (with Mrs. Woodhead), and for those who were attending the tournament, I had hoped they would take the initiative to wrap it up it tonight.   That said, as it is Thanksgiving weekend starting after school tomorrow, and I can't assign homework, this work is not due until Wednesday.

Detailed instructions on how to complete and submit the form can be found on the form and accompanying letter. If a completed consent form is not received, your child will not be able to be vaccinated at the clinic.
