HOUSEKEEPING:
1. COURSE SELECTION: Parents and Guardians: don't forget to sit down with your child and do a "'practice" course selection through Career Cruising. Do not put this off!
2. HIGH SCHOOL REGISTRATION: The green registration form that came home in the red folder is due Tuesday, January 30. I have received just one so far (Kudos to Carson)
3. Aurora Open House: this Thursday Night

ENGLISH:
1. Grade 7 and 8: Write notes for "Freedom vs. Security" with the two short stories we read today in class.
2. Thesis quiz tomorrow: I will be giving you a set of random topics and you will convert them into thesis statements. Refer to the notes we took in class today to guide you in this process.

MATH:
1. New UTS came for signing today. This is a fairly short unit covering: divisibility rules, factors, multiples, square numbers, square roots, and exponents. Please have this signed for tomorrow and send it back with your child.

1. Grade 8 students have received their topics for their final research report (on Prezi). On Wednesday, we will be dedicating our 40 minutes to working on the presentation itself, meaning students will need to come with some research already completed.
