Mission Statement

Mission Statement: My classroom is a place where students should feel welcome: everyone should feel free to learn and participate without worrying about put-downs
or soul-crushing gossip.

Friday, April 27

What an epic battle.  When I was sitting down (which happened often), I took a look around and was amazed to see dodgeballs screaming about, chug jugs raining down from above, and shields blocking laserbeams from cannon-like arms.

HOUSEKEEPING:

1. Camp Muskoka is a tech-free zone.  Please ensure your child does NOT bring their cell phone/tablet/abacus...Any devices will be stored in a Ziploc bag and returned at the end of the trip.

2. Look at the Science Classroom (Google Class) where the grade 8 "Packing List" for the upcoming Muskoka trip is found.  It may not be ready by 4:00 p.m. today, so check it out tomorrow.

3. Get the HQ app.

KUDOS TO
The class.  Your play today during fortnite dodgeball was perfect: everyone was playing as hard as they could, no one complained at all,  and teams supported each other (often in clever ways).   Bigger Kudos to the girls (and Aidan) for winning twice.  Finally, a giant kudos to Allen, Mobin, Jessica for solving this week's math bonus.  A very expensive mistake for Starbucks.

ENGLISH

1. Lit circle #4 is up on the classroom.  It's what we talked about today - the resume for a character.  The session will be held on Friday, May 4th, so be sure you have completed the work by then.

2. Reading bonus is up and running! It's tonight at midnight.

3.  One-Minute talks are after we get back from the trip.
