HOUSEKEEPING:
1. Pasta lunch forms (yellow) came home today.
2. Borrow eBooks and audiobooks from the YRDSB school collection. Visit http://yrdsb.lib.overdrive.com
KUDOS TO: Jamie: during stretching, she made the connection between balanced equations and the need to stretch both sides of the body. Love the math/phys-ed combo.
HOMEWORK:
ENGLISH:
1. Book talks are starting. Every student has been given access to the rubric on Classroom: look it over with your parents and prepare any questions you may have. As well, the outline is there for you to use! There is also a copy of the "Book talk in 10 steps" lesson.
2. Students will have a 7-word summary test next week (based on a chapter of Seedfolks). They are encouraged to practise this skill by making short summaries of stories they read, shows they watch, and even of conversations they have!
MATH:
1. Finish the "Grade 7 Algebra" increase/decrease percentage sheet.
FRENCH:
1. Students will have a French test next week: they will need to know all of the provinces, territories, and capitals of Canada...in French!
2. Students need to continue practising "5 par jour".
HISTORY:
1. Grade 8: next class, you will present your assigned province or territory to the class (the work you did while you had the supply - which I gave back to you today). Be sure to be able to speak about: the important person (related to the province's joining of Confederation), the date entered into Confederation, what did it look like before Confederation, and the reasons why they wanted to join). Extra points if you can point out reasons why they may NOT have wanted to have joined.
ART:
1. Rough copy of cookbook due Monday.
SCIENCE:
