Mission Statement: My classroom is a place where students should feel welcome: everyone should feel free to learn and participate without worrying about put-downs
or soul-crushing gossip.

HOUSEKEEPING:

1.

KUDOS TO:   Aimee and Luke for winning at "Werewolf".  They went through the town like hot knives through butter.  Minor kudos to Jamie (she was a werewolf but died before claiming victory).

HOMEWORK:

ENGLISH:
1. Students began their second reading response (they were given 35 minutes in class).  This response is due tonight by midnight (it must be submitted via Google classroom)

2. Book talks are starting.  Every student has been given access to the rubric on Classroom: look it over with your parents and prepare any questions you may have.  As well, the outline is there for you to use!  There is also a copy of the "Book talk in 10 steps" lesson.

MATH:
1. I handed back their order of operations quiz.  For those students who needed to redo it, I worked with them and they were given an opportunity to redo it online.

2. There is a one-page intro algebra worksheet that is due tomorrow (it deals with the language of math).

3.  First block of the UTS is due tomorrow (grade 7: page 380 #1-6, 7, 8a; grade 8: page 418 #1 and 2)

FRENCH:
1. Students need to continue practising "5 par jour".

HISTORY:
1.  GRADE 8: Some students have begun to re-do the communication portion of the test!  I have had three "conversations" and all three were a significant improvement over what was written.  Nice job.

ART:

1.

SCIENCE:

MUSIC
