HOUSEKEEPING:

1. The focus for the next Student Success Assembly is "RESPONSIBILITY".  If you have a moment this weekend, ask your child how they demonstrate this very desirable trait!

2. Edge Imaging portraits came home.  Online orders are pretty easy to do; instructions are on the package.  Photo orders are due November 2, 2017

3.  Grade 8: a permission form came home for our trip to Aurora High on Nov. 1.  Please have it signed and bring it back to school.

KUDOS TO: It's a long list today:
1. To Julia, Natalie, and Ella for being recognized at the Student Success Assembly for demonstrating outstanding respect
2. To Jessica and Kaitlin for winning the cover contest for the school cookbook
3. To Aidan and Natalie for bringing another stellar performance at the Student Success Assembly
4. To Mobin, Ella, and Betty for leading an eco-team presentation in front of the whole school.  You have the required guts.

Don't forget: responsibility for the next Student Success Assembly!

HOMEWORK:

ENGLISH:

1. Passion Project: we had a few presentations today and they were all "thumbs up" from our Dragon's Den judges.  I was impressed by the level of thought students put into their ideas.  We have some movers and shakers in this class.

2. Book talks will start on Tuesday.  We will then pick them up again on Thursday.

MATH:

1. The second page of the math test came home today.  We spent time in expert groups taking up some of the questions.  On Monday I will be doing re-testing for anyone who has their tests signed.  As well, students will have their notebooks evaluated (make sure you are up to date on your UTS).

FRENCH:

1. Please bring a set of headphones from home (if you have them).  We will be listening and responding to something I recorded.  We will be presenting on Monday.

 2. Students need to continue practising "5 par jour".

HISTORY:
1.  Grade 8: Next week we begin our "Women's Suffrage Movement" Display.  I'm excited.

ART:

1. Finish 1/2 of the card.  It is due next class (no colour - only pencil)

SCIENCE:
1.Grade 7: graph due Thursday.
2. Grade 8 cell is due Monday

MUSIC:

1.

DRAMA:

1. Students completed their rough work for their monologues.  Students have done a first draft of the script and have received feedback.  We will present the monologues on MONDAY.
